JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for driving Charter performance by creating and managing video product initiatives in the areas of Search and Discovery including display and usability within the STB interactive guides, video applications, search quality and optimization, and development of our recommendation and voice search platforms. Develops and defines business requirements, partner cross-functionally with development and integration teams, manage/champion video roadmap, and spearheads customer experience enhancements for installed video base. Drives cross functional collaboration with Advanced Engineering, Big Data / Analytics, User Experience / User Interface, Next Gen Video, third party vendors, Corporate Marketing, Network Operations, Customer Operations and Finance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the search and discovery experience.

Manages search and discovery product lifecycle and roadmap for digital video product with a keen focus on the interactive program guide and customer experience.

Leads and works with a cross functional team through the development, implementation and launch of new products and features.

Establishes credibility with suppliers and third party vendors to direct strategy and implementation, while driving deliverable timelines.

Possesses and continues to hone knowledge base via key points of integration, including search technologies like Lucene and Solr, voice search, and natural language processing for program guides on native and cloud-based solutions

Determines and monitors key performance customer experience indicators for the search and discovery product portfolio.

Develops and promotes business case/plan to support future product initiatives and key new strategies.

Works on the integration of classic video products with web, mobile, high speed internet and phone.

Drives customer-facing product enhancements that generate increased engagement, revenue growth and market penetration for the video product.

Performs extensive competitive, peer and market analysis.

Provide training and thought leadership on agile technologies within the company.

Create and groom agile backlogs

Supervisor: Plans, staffs, evaluates and directs work of employees of a work unit

Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:
Experience with video delivery products, specifically search and recommendation engines.
Training and experience with Scaled Agile Frameworks, LeSS, or similar enterprise-level agile approaches.
Experience with cable and/or IP-based video systems.
Software architectural experience.
Strong engineering experience.
Strong business acumen
Experience with software as a service technologies and RESTful Services.
Experience managing vendors and writing statements of work
Extraordinary communication skills, including large group presentations.
Ability to quickly learn and adapt to existing product development processes.
Demonstrated ability to focus daily decisions within the larger product portfolio goals.

Education
BS/BA in business, engineering, or computer science
MBA is preferred

Related Work Experience Number of Years
Experience in product management and product development or engineering 7
High level of experience working in the cable industry managing commercially launched products
