About this job

Minimum of eight (8) years of experience of onboard Submarine Hull/Mechanical and Electrical equipment/systems for Los Angeles (688/688I) Class, Virginia (774) Class, Seawolf (21) Class and SSGN Class Systems. Must currently be qualified Submarine Class Diesel Inspector. Must be able to accomplish installation, troubleshooting/evaluations, testing , installation, training/instruction and corrective action/repair of the following systems: Depth Control (Mechanical/Electrical), External Hydraulic Power Plant and Controllers (Mechanical/Electrical), Secondary propulsion Unit (Mechanical/Electrical), Ships Service Hydraulic Power Plant and Controllers (Mechanical/Electrical), Steering/Diving /Fairwater/Bow/Stern Planes Systems (Mechanical/Electrical, VH Valves, Oxygen generator (AEOG/EOG), Capstan, MBT Vent Valves, Hatches/Doors, Damage Control. Must have experience supporting submarine Total Ship Readiness Assessments and INSURV Material Inspections.

Six (6) years full time engineering experience in the operation, maintenance, installation, test and/or repair of submarine mechanical, electrical and/or electronic systems and equipment. This must include experience in evaluating the material condition of ship systems and implementing corrective action.

This position may be located in Norfolk VA or Groton CT.

Travel: Yes: up to 10%

Security Clearance: US Security Clearance Required: YES (SECRET). This position requires an active Security Clearance at the time of hire.
