Aerotek Scientific is currently hiring for a Quality Control Chemist in the Des Moines area. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity that will have room for growth within the organization. If you are interested and qualified, please apply with an updated resume and contact information.
Title: QC Chemist
Pay: $14/hour
Hours: 8-4:30 (will be some OT for sure)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in the Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, etc.)
- +3 months of previous experience in a laboratory setting (academic or professional) is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Running tests on finished products, raw materials, and products in bulk stage production.
- Testing 100-110 samples in 2-3 days.
- Making standards, troubleshooting the instrumentation.
- Paperwork and documentation, recording test results. Must be okay with this because this is a lot of the job alongside the lab testing
- Some research and development with chemical formulations.
- Maintenance and calibration on analytic instrumentation.
- Basic wet bench chemistry techniques such as titrations and pipetting. Weighing samples. Would eventually get into more technical testing such as HPLC and GC.
Work Environment:
- This would be in a laboratory setting in a larger production facility
- This position would be a fast-paced and high-throughput job. The testings can be repetitive, so candidates must be comfortable with this.
