Machinist - Full-time / Part-time

Machinist is responsible for running a variety of parts on the following machines: Citizens, Mazak, Ramko Parts Washer. They will be machining parts for the assembly and construction of ground water sampling, landfill gas, water treatment and soil sampling equipment.

- Operate a variety of CNC machines for both production and prototype parts
- Run Citizens machine (lathe) for small parts and program for each individual part (runs on Gibss)
- Run a Mazak machine (5 axis machine) - this machine won't be coming on site until later this year
- Operate a parts washer and barraging bundle cutter
- Maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Adjusts tools and replace as needed
- Layout machines based on job packets and blueprints for the parts being run (includes geometic tolerancing)
- Perform daily maintenance of machines as required and keep supervisor informed of necessary maintenance beyond operator ability
- Collect and input SPC data which involves the use of comparator, CMM, Trimos, gages and related test instruments
- Perform necessary side operations during machine cycle time as required (i.e., deburring)
- Suggestions on cost savings per job (minimize waste and scrap parts, ect)

1st shift: the first shift candidate but be completely competent to work on their own. This is the first time QED will have machines on site so there is no one there to train. They will fly employees in from MN to train during the first week and then the employee will be on their own. That is why it is very important that they have the skill level to do the job from day 1.

1st shift: 7am start - 3:30pm (OT would be 1 hour before the shift and then after)
