Citizens Campaign for the Environment
With 85,000 members, Citizens Campaign for the Environment is the strongest and most successful environmental grassroots organization in the state of New York and Connecticut. Thirty-two years of experience and community organizing have allowed us to successfully protect and preserve our states water and air quality with at least one victory a year!
Some of our biggest victories include the banning hydrofracking in New York, as well as getting the NY Child Safe Playing Fields Act, which keeps harmful pesticides off kids' school yards grades K-12! We were also successful in getting a ban on microplastics on personal care products!
Currently we are working a campaign to keep a carcinogenic (cancer-causing) chemical 1,4 Dioxane out of our drinking water. It has been found in Long Island drinking water more than anywhere else in the United States. WE CANNOT WIN WITHOUT YOUR HELP!!
