POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for performance & capacity analysis and metrics reporting for Aetnas computer systems and infrastructure components.
FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENTS
Ability to learn the following with increased probability of consideration with greater knowledge and experience:
* Foundation level understanding of server performance and server CPU/memory capacity topics.
* Operating system or server architecture knowledge of VMware, AIX, Linux, and Windows systems.
* Ability to use UNIX and Windows tools & commands (TOP, TOPAS, Perfmon, etc.).
* Working with data and formulas in Microsoft Excel Basic statistical forecasting using Microsoft Excel and ability to create charts.
* Understanding and recognizing application & server utilization trends (hourly/weekly/monthly/yearly).
* Clear written and verbal communication.
* Strong teamwork skills
* Programming automation (VBA /VB.Net or major scripting languages such as Perl and Python).
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
Associates or Bachelors degree or 1+ years experience with log shipping technologies, SQL or scripting languages a plus.
EDUCATION
The minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
