JOB PURPOSE: Grow engagement between Lowes Foods and the community by creating, planning and executing events to host at the Community Table. BASIC DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITY: • In coordination with the merchandising team, prepare a monthly calendar of events, taking into consideration seasonality, themes, Holidays, etc. • Build relationships with local chefs and local growers and assist them in hosting events at the community table. • Assist in planning and coordinating up to multiple events per year for the Community Table. • Assist in arranging each event, inclusive of food, beverages (tastings), supplies, signage, and appropriate décor. May include recruiting local groups to attend planned events. • Aggressively gather information on each project to achieve quality events. • Propose new ideas to improve the events and the implementation process. • Serve as liaison with vendors and local chefs/growers on event related matters. • Assist with managing the events and clean up for events as necessary. • Prepare name tags, materials, notebooks, packages, gift bags, seating cards, etc. (whatever is needed for the specific event). PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: • Deliver the role in the show, growing community through words and actions. • Maintain a professional appearance as outlined in The Lowes Look uniform and appearance standards. • Display welcoming body language. • Greet and thank each guest using the Open Arms and Lowes Signature Salute guidelines. • Solve problems immediately using the four priorities (safety, friendliness, show, efficiency) as the decision making filter. • Respect all guests, especially children. • Have and share knowledge of products, events and personal stories with guests. • Actively communicate with guests using the 6-step conversation process (welcome, comprehend/connect, recommend/assist, share, cross sell, close). OTHER DUTIES: • Must be able to anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision. • The community table coordinator must be creative, have a love for food, provide outstanding guest service, be an enthusiastic professional, and be able to build relationships with internal and external guests. • Assist in preparing budgets and provide periodic financial reports. • Keep track of event finances. • Coordinate appointments and visits with local chefs, growers and producers as well as civic groups, schools, churches etc. QUALIFICATIONS: • Friendly, outgoing, take charge professional. • Ability to work well with others. • Ability to lift 25 lbs. occasionally and 15 lbs. constantly. • Ability to read and understand information and direction. • Knowledge of basic store operations. • Ability to supervise people including training and development. • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. • Ability to work well with others.
