Whelan Security currently has an opening in the Marketing Department for a Marketing Coordinator, based in our St. Louis office. The Marketing Coordinator supports the mission of Whelan Security through the creation, execution and support of marketing and communications activities.

This role will focus primarily on content development, e-newsletter development, event planning, RFP support and project management. We are seeking a talented professional who can develop and prepare clear and engaging content; and is committed to representing our brand with a high degree of quality, creativity, accountability, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
  • Craft strategic written content for marketing initiatives, i.e. press releases, ads, brochures, sales proposals and internal communications
  • Executes on ongoing marketing initiatives, including emails, social media, events, advertising, sales materials, public relations, etc.
  • Manages social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Manages the Whelan external-facing websites including monitoring for accuracy, content generation, and soliciting content from Whelan staff to continually optimize the audience experience.
  • Prepare presentations and other associated materials necessary for meetings.
  • Plans meetings and trade shows by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists.
  • Creates and updates daily, weekly and monthly reports as required.
  • Collaboration with outside vendors and consultants as needed.
  • Manage content within portions of the company intranet


Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, anticipate demands, communicate status appropriately, and maintain a high level of operational transparency and accountability.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience writing, editing and developing original work for a variety of communications vehicles, both print and digital (targeted email, web copy, social media, slide presentations, feature articles, news releases, etc.)
  • Experience working in a self-motivated, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to collaborate and work well with management, peers, and across functions
  • Strong alignment with company culture and values


Education

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
  • Possess at least a high school education or equivalent (GED) – College degree preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, English or a related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM software.
  • Familiarity with corporate branding guideline.
  • Experience with email marketing.
  • Proven project management skills including facilitation of project teams.
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including PowerPoint, preferred.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of directly related work experience is required.
