About this job
This position reports to Enterprise Data Architect and, is responsible for implementation of PostgreSQL databases. This position will work with and ultimately transfer responsibility to the DBAs in the corporate Data Services.
Other duties as assigned.

Equivalent Education Level Required: 4 year university BS/BA degree:Computer Science or Business major preferred. Technical certifications desired.
Experience Required: Two-three years of experience with multiple implementations necessary. Must be able to plan and implement high performance PostgreSQL databases at an enterprise level including installation, configuration, backup/recovery, disaster recovery, replication and monitoring. Experience required writing PostgreSQL compatible SQL. Experience storing JSON and using NoSQL a plus. Must be able to document work and transfer knowledge with good communications skills. A working knowledge of Oracle is needed for the migration of data and stored procedures from Oracle 11 and Oracle 12 to EnterpriseDB PostgreSQL.
Knowledge Required: Excellent written and verbal communications skills as would be needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information. Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Must have enterprise knowledge of and extensive practical experience with PostgreSQL / EnterpriseDB databases.
Physical Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time; standing occasionally; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.; driving and having access during the workday to an insured and reliable transportation; typing; data entry; grasping; transferring items between hands and/or to another person or receptacle; use of office equipment to include computers; ability to travel to, be physically present at, and complete the physical requirements of the position at any assigned location.
