A successful Business Analyst will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; and one plus years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to learn quickly and add value without being the subject matter expert. Great attention to detail and ability to organize information in a logical manner.
  • Experience as a business analyst using tools and techniques from the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • Experience eliciting, formulating, and managing requirements. Experience working on IT related projects. Ability to develop process and systems maps and identify areas for improvement.
  • Team player mentality - ability to add value by consulting with customers and executing projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to influence people throughout the organization
  • Strong analytical skills.  Ability to evaluate large amounts of information and develop models to make the information meaningful and actionable.

Dish is looking for a problem solver that can add value to our business.  The Business Analyst utilizes a variety of tools and techniques to improve processes, leverage technologies and develop strategies for improving the operational performance of Dish's sales groups.

 

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Build relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization - project managers, customers, IT, etc.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to build relationships and prepare for upcoming projects.
  • Tactfully challenge sales channels on their assumptions, issues and proposed solutions in order to clearly define the problem and begin to determine requirements.
  • Elicit requirements using brainstorming, document analysis, focus groups, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops and surveys.
  • Evaluate information gathered from stakeholders, determine business requirements and recommend next steps to management.
  • Identify and manage project risks. Perform business analysis activities throughout the lifecycle of a project.  Work with project manager to ensure project success.
