The role will lead UHC Globals Data Architecture group. This role is responsible for proactive and hands-on ownership of our database assets.
  
Primary Responsibilities:

Expertise in Requirement analysis, Database design and Strong Database Objects development skills including Tables, Views, Triggers, Stored procedures, Cursors and T-SQL batches
Possess expertise in writing Dynamic SQL Scripts, PowerShell and automating various Audit procedures as per the Organizations requirements
Provide database administration for mission-critical custom and packaged database software
Design storage strategies around backup and recovery for complex database environment, physical structures, and specialized database applications/systems
Uphold enterprise policy guidelines and recommend new/improved guidelines
Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed databases
Act as a liaison serving as primary point of contact between application business segments and database administrators
Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform in all of the basic database management skills of database administration, Web connectivity, physical structure, overall architecture and database analysis
Provide standardization and consistency across environments
Implement and monitor database functionality to ensure stable environments
Review work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement
Developing and delivering logical and physical data models, including the creation and maintenance of ERD diagrams and other documentation for large complex operational systems employing deep system integration and SOA architectures
Determine proper Surrogate Key/ID management strategy
Assisting in the development and implementation of various strategic initiatives around Meta Data Management, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Data Architecture Policies, Standards and Governance
Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed data flows
Participating in data architecture design and review processes
Manage and lead a team of Database Administrators
Actively participate in all phases of project development life cycle including database policies, procedures, standards and supporting documentation, database design, process flow analysis, development, benchmark analysis, performance/tuning, capacity planning, and production implementation
Production support responsibilities include maximizing system availability, ensuring swift and complete database recovery, optimizing database and availability through ongoing maintenance, and ensure conformance to audit and operating standards
Provide status reports to senior management
Participate in the evaluation, and recommendation of appropriate hardware and software resources
Conduct employee performance appraisals, provide feedback, coaching, team building and training/education to team members
Conduct interviews for recruitment of full-time and consulting positions as required
Assisting with communication interfaces/integration to associated systems
Upholds enterprise policy guidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Post-graduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience
10+ years of experience in the Information Technology profession
10+ years working with RDBMS
10+ years of MS SQL knowledge/experience
10+ years of People Management experience
10+ years of analytical skills and capable of influencing on technical issues
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Broad knowledge of relational database technologies
