Manufacturing Associate - 1st Shift - Full-time / Part-time

Express Employment Professionals is currently seeking Manufacturing Associates in Portland, TN for 1st Shift – 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday and occasional Saturday. Pay Rate: $11.00. Interested candidates should have previous Press Operator, Quality Inspection, and Assembly experience. The positions are Evaluation-to-Hire. 

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Associate:

• Run appropriate job number according to production schedule
• Complete a visual quality check of product at beginning of shift
• Completes visual checks of each part produced to ensure it meets part specifications
• Notifying material handler in a timely fashion, to make sure all stations are stocked
• Effectively apply basic trouble shooting techniques to keep machines operational
• Use basic hand tools to complete authorized adjustments and minor repairs
• Responsible for contacting assembly technician when problems occur that the operator cannot resolve
• Assist assembly technician, as needed, during changeover
• Maintains and updates down time efficiency log, daily production counts, lot control and any other production paper work
• Assures that all components and assemblies in assigned area are properly tagged
• Keeps work area organized, and clean
• Reports count of, and dispossess of all production scrap into the appropriate scrap bin at the end of each shift. Reports discrepancies to supervisor
• The employee understands that they are empowered to affect change in the company by making suggestions in writing or verbally to their supervisor 

Requirements of the Manufacturing Associate:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Previous Press Operator experience
• Previous Quality Inspection experience
• Previous Assembly experience
• Ability to use basic hand tools 

Physical Requirements of the Manufacturing Associate:

• Capability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, and twist up to 10 hours 

Compensation of the Manufacturing Associate:

• $11.00 per hour
