GENERAL SUMMARY:

Investigates, plans and recommends changes to machinery, controls or other computer, pneumatic or hydraulic equipment. Recommends equipment purchases, modifications and replacements. Assumes ownership and pride of all equipment. Develops training programs and standards for machine and control design or purchase. Works in accordance with general business standards and established company policy and precedent. Has the opportunity to establish programs and/or methodologies within scope of work under the general direction of the Engineering Manager.

DUTIES:

  • Review design of existing equipment for improved efficiency, uptime, material flow, setup time or automation of cells or processes
  • Assist with machine design, programming and prototype work with machine builders and all departments
  • Serve as technical resource in machine control, hydraulic and pneumatic areas
  • Evaluate and lead training for control, hydraulic and pneumatic setup and maintenance
  • Develop training programs and train personnel in the basic principles of electrical, machinery and fixture repairs
  • Maintain automated inspection equipment programming and operation
  • Responsible for maintaining project timelines and ensuring anticipated outcome, including machinery purchases or upgrades when working with outside vendors or suppliers
  • Prepares runoff criteria for machinery upgrades or purchases
  • Follow Management Systems procedures and work instructions
  • Participate in SysteManagment meetings on a periodic basis
  • Observe blueprint for all dimensions and requirements to assure maximum quality and production
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and repair as defined on the preventive maintenance schedule

 

 
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with five (5) years or more experience.
Must own basic tools to perform job tasks. Employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 80 lbs. on an occasional basis.
