Emory Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an experienced WOCN to be responsible for program development for the Wound Prevention and Management Program for in-patient rehab. The WOCN will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and be a key member of the nursing leadership team. This is a great opportunity to join the Emory Healthcare system in a small, family atmosphere of a 56-bed hospital. Resources to support an effective and successful wound program are available from both Emory Healthcare and Select Medical.

The ERH WOCN directs agency-wide initiatives for pressure ulcer prevention, wound/ostomy care, providing education and advanced clinical guidance to Emory Healthcare staff, physicians, students, patients and families. As a part of the rehabilitation team, this patient education plays a critical role in patient self-management of wounds.

This setting offers the opportunity to care for multiple patient diagnoses including transplant, oncology, cardiac and neurology to maintain a broad skill set.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.

* Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.

* Two years of recent (within the past five years) Registered Nursing experience.

* Completion of an accredited WOC Nursing Education program.

* Must achieve certification in Wound Care and Ostomy Care within 12 months.

* Certification in Continence Care is not required, but preferred. Previous experience in Wound and Ostomy care is not required, but preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
