General Responsibilities:

Hertz Field Human Resources, is seeking an enthusiastic, organized individual with a can-do attitude for our Human Resources Coordinator/Clerk role based at the Los Angeles Airport.

The successful candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent prioritization skills and is capable of completing projects independently or within a team.

The primary mission of the Human Resources Coordinator/Clerk is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource department. Including: Assisting the HR Business Partners in collaborating with the business to provide improved value. The HR Coordinator/Clerk will have a general understanding of all aspects and administration of the HR support function including policies, procedures, and processes. Some of the duties will include:

Onboarding
  • Making copies of new hire paperwork
  • Scanning of personnel files to the Corporate offic in OKC
  • Assist new hires in online training in Learning Connection

Hiring/Recruiting
  • Posting positions internally and externally
  • Schedule and coordinate open houses
  • Monitoring background checks and drug screen completion
  • Scheduling first day/orientation

Miscellaneous
  • Filing/Tracking LOWs, Medical Documentation (FMLA/Workers Comp)
  • Returning phone calls for basic employee requests
  • Compose mail and company letters to employees (i.e. Return to Work notices, Job Abandonment letters)
  • Send Assignment change notices to the HR Employee Care Center
  • Check voicemails and relay messages for HRBPs on LOA
  • Track Union grievances and forward to appropriate HRBP
  • Scan or mail files to Legal Dept. upon request
  • Assistance with special projects as needed

Mandatory Requirements:

Educational Background:
  • Associates Degree – HR, Business, or Related Field or some college credit
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business/Management, preferred

Professional Experience:
  • Previous HR and/or HR Support Experience (minimum 1 year)

Knowledge:
  • Solid knowledge of basic HR and employment laws and regulations
  • Understanding of FMLA and LOA policies and practices

Skills:
  • Excellent Organization and Prioritization Skills
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Proficient at Multi-tasking
  • Positive & Professional Interpersonal Skills
  • Must be able to work independently – able to complete projects start to finish
  • Agility & Adaptability - able to adjust to any situation
  • Excellent Decision Making Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills-Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Travel:
  • Will require some local travel
