POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for assisting with the coordination of all aspects of training for the resort in collaboration with Human Resources and the Training Manager.  Coordinate, under the direction of the Director of F&B (dotted line reporting relationship to Human Resources and Training Manager), training efforts to include; Department training classes conducting service focused audits on operations.  Responsible for providing all F&B professionals with the highest level of professional support and internal service in all interactions.  To support the day to day operations of the Property and assist managers and staff in aligning the Property’s  policies and procedures with the overall business objective.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Handles the inputting and tracking for all training mandated for the F&B department including, TIPS training, ServeSafe, HACCP training, all Service Focused Training including FORBES/AAA.
  • Creates and executes a service focused calendar for each operation in F&B.
  • Works to conduct operational guest service training by modeling service standards “in the trenches”.
  • Capable of conducting energetic, creative and professional training programs and potential classes.
  • Assists in the development, and implementation of F&B training programs.
  • Will monitor the completion of all audits and address and retrain any concerns with the colleagues which is highlighted in the audit
  • Participates in presenting dynamic and enthusiastic new hire orientation program welcoming all new hires into our service culture.
  • Be an “expert” on all Rooms Department Forbes , AAA, I-Preferred, and FH&R standards
  • Will conduct/complete audits themselves on all Rooms Department employees throughout each month
  • Prepares, analyzes and keeps statistical reports related to the monthly and day to day operations.
  • Facilitates an informative management orientation program ensuring that all newly hired, or existing F&B employees understand their roles.
  • Meets biweekly with HR Training Manager and department certified trainers
  • Meet monthly with HR, Spa, F&B, and Rooms Directors
  • Holding the trainee and colleague accountable
  • Good at communicating thoroughly the Rooms Departments standards and the core values for the company
  • In addition to Forbes & AAA training, the trainer, in collaboration with the HR Training Manager, will also be responsible for coordinating other essential training including but not limited to: chemical training, loss prevention training, etc.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees, fellow managers, executives and guests.
  • Develops strong working relationships with all employees, managers and directors to ensure communication and teamwork is at an optimum.
  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation. Maintains all standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Willingness to work special events for the resort as well as to help out operationally on evenings and weekends.
  • In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the resort.
  • Make recommendation to management for improvement of organization’s overall procedure, and practices
  • Monitors and tracks any trends in Unifocus
  • Assists in the coordination and oversight of the Department Trainer Program and helps to generate enthusiasm and guidance to all SME (subject matter experts) so that there is consistency with training that a new hire will be receiving
  • Assists with special projects related to the Food and Beverage Department

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Associates degree or equivalent two year college or technical school.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years minimum in a 5 Star or 5 Diamond luxury hotel preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Publisher, Word, Excel, Outlook required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess advanced computer skills; especially related to Power Point, Excel & Publisher.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems.
  • Walking, standing and occasional sitting at a desk are required. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15lbs occasionally.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual activity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, 10-key adding machine, phones, fax machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment.
