As the Health Care Economics Analyst, you will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance and methodology levers. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care costs data. Along with your team, you will identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies. Primary Responsibilities:
Review and validation of network optimization files
Identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies
Create and update automated processes
Analyze reporting tools utilized by the internal customer groups
Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
Solves moderately complex data issues and/or performs moderately complex analyses for ad hoc health plan requests
Translates concepts into practice, utilizing UHN contract guidelines and department policies and procedures
Positions in this function research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data
Provides management with statistical findings and conclusions
Provides data in support of actuarial, financial and utilization analyses
Present findings of network optimization files to health plan leadership
Analysis of revenue and medical expenses to determine root cause of potential outliers
Review financial data by analyzing results, monitoring variances and identifying trends
Completion of physician scorecards according to terms of value based contracting agreements and to be presented to the Health Plan Â
Prepare target models in support of UHN requests, following contracting guidelines
Perform standard Model and Scorecard peer reviews
Prepare and submit monthly accrual estimates to accounting
Decision making authority
Assists lead for market, major tasks or projects

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
2+ years of work experience in a corporate setting
At least an intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
Basic level of proficiency with Access
Intermediate level of proficiency in performing data analytics
Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of health care experience
