Banquet Attendant

Job Responsibilities

  • Banquet Attendant will play a visible role in exceeding our customer’s expectation though design, delivery and customer service
  • Preparing the Main Event banquet room for the event
  • Set up, maintain and replenish multiple buffet lines
  • Serving customers, and post event clean up
  • Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times.  Make guests feel appreciated
  • Anticipate guest's needs.  Be alert of guest signals and acknowledge the guest
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol
  • Serve food and/or beverages to guests at tables as required
  • Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take to kitchen for cleaning
  • Process payment transactions thanking guest by name
  • Responsible service of alcohol.  Should a guest reach the state you do not feel they should drive, we will supply a taxi.  Do not hesitate to ask for management intervention if necessary
  • Maintain, on an ongoing basis throughout the shift, the cleanliness of the dining, bar and billiard areas
  • Perform all applicable opening, mid-day or closing preparation, cleaning and maintenance duties according to the requirements of the shift worked
  • Attend all scheduled meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or directed by Company management

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid Alcohol Seller/Server Certification
  • Possess and maintain a current knowledge of the Main Event facilities and activities; including the services and products for customer purchase
  • Ability to operate computer, cash register and credit card verification equipment
  • A minimum of 6 months prior job experience with cash handling and public interaction responsibilities is preferred
  • Basic reading and mathematical skills, handle money and give correct change
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits, and be familiar with standard drink recipes
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills; ability to work under pressure amid distractions and interruptions
  • Possess good customer relations abilities, outgoing and friendly manner, courteous and cooperative attitude, team oriented
  • Knowledge of food and beverage specifications and workplace safety procedures
  • Well-groomed and neat appearance
  • Successful completion of Main Event Entertainment Alcohol Awareness Test
