Food Production Manager

Well-established food company located in Port Washington, NY seeks an experienced Production Manager.

The work environment is fast-paced, on your feet and physical work. Must be comfortable working in a low temperature and wet environment.

This candidate must perform all duties in compliance with USDA, State, Federal and company regulations, policies and procedures including GMP, SOP and safety regulations.

Hours are Mon – Fri 3:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Bilingual (Spanish) a huge plus, however by no means required

Some main duties include, but not limited to:

• Ensure safety guidelines are met
• Assist plant management to meet/increase production output and efficiencies
• Control loss, minimize/eliminate downtime and improve product yield
• Maintain quality control standards
• Ensure food safety and security regarding the handling and storage of all foods
• Coordinate training, scheduling and labor management

A qualified candidate must meet the following criteria:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Food Science or related field a plus
• Previous production management experience in the food industry
• 5+ years manufacturing/management related experience in a food production environment
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
