Systems Engineer III - Full-time

Job Scope

The Systems Engineer III is responsible for assisting design, development, and implementation of enterprise-wide. Network Operations is looking for System Engineer III's in Video Operations Engineering. These Senior Engineers will be responsible for providing ongoing analysis of video platforms to ensure they are operating as expected and find potential opportunities for improvement. These team members will serve as an escalation point for the Headend Support Center in troubleshooting issues including advanced vendor escalations and management.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Systems Engineering experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience headend experience
• Minimum of 2 years of plan, design, and MOP (Method of Procedure) writing experience
• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and experience

Additional Job Requirements

• Experience working with the following technologies; OSS, Linux, RedHat, Windows OS, JavaScript, PERL, SQL, MySQL, Oracle, IP networking protocols, HP & Dell hardware, VMware/VSphere/ESX/ESXi platforms, Solarwinds and other NOC tools, Splunk, IBM Netcool (ITVM)and working within Ethernet, IP and/or SONET based networks
• Experience working with video controllers; DNCS, DAK
• Experience with either Cisco or Arris (Formerly Motorola) headend experience; working on both configuring the equipment and controllers
• Understanding of http/https protocols and KPI
• Experience with Cisco CNR and DHCP protocol
• Experience with Arris Edge and TR069 protocol
• Experience with MOP writing, or writing instructions within a Video-based environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within Telecommunications industry
• RedHat Certified Administrator/Engineer
