POSITION DESCRIPTION COMPANION/HOME HELPER
Hearthside, Inc. d.b.a. Home Instead Senior Care
 
Purpose: To provide professional companionship and housekeeping services.

Primary Home Helper Responsibilities
  • Light housekeeping

  • Clean refrigerator
  • Laundry
  • Iron clothes
  • Change linens
  • Make bed
  • Drop off/pick up dry cleaning
  • Incidental Transportation
  • General shopping
  • Grocery shopping
  • Escort to appointments
  • Escort to lunch or dinner
  • Attend lectures, plays, concerts
  • Accompany to religious services
  • Attend club meetings
  • Attend sporting events
  • Airline departure and arrival assistance
  • Reporting hours and expenses to the office after each shift
  • Promptly reporting any significant changes in client’s needs and living conditions
  • Contribute to a positive living climate for the overall quality of life for the client
  •  Perform other reasonable, related duties as assigned or requested

Essential Qualifications and Functions

  • Ability to communicate with the client in a friendly and congenial manner
  • Ability to communicate with office staff to ensure that service expectations are met
  • Ability to perform Companion and Home Helper Responsibilities listed above
  • Ability to perform physical requirements listed above
 Special Requirements
  • Ability to adapt to various individual living environments and locations.
  • Ability to withstand periodic physical contact with dog and cat hair, dust, mold, mildew and cleaning solutions
