Otis Elevator Company, the world's largest company in the manufacture, maintenance and service of elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and other horizontal transportation systems, has summer intern Engineering opportunities available at their Otis Service Center in Bloomfield, CT. We are looking for organized self-starters with technical backgrounds or aptitude who are interested in careers in the elevator industry.
The selected candidate will assist the lead Field Engineers in the support and response to inquiries from field associates and management in North America. The student will be involved in updating methods, processes and procedures with a strong emphasis on installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of elevators. The individual will be asked to become familiar with specific pieces of elevator equipment; and, to develop contemporary support products and personal knowledge of elevator operations.
Four projects will be assigned as part of this position: Power meter integration with Panorama, Integration of Panorama on the Compass network, implementation of Rocketport IP device, and setup and programming of Panorama simulator. For each of these, the candidate will be responsible for specifying, testing, pilot site selection and management, production parts line-up and documentation for release.
Qualifications The successful candidate must be self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated planning and organizational skills are required. The individual should also possess strong analytical, communication and customer service skills.
Education Candidates should be working towards a degree in engineering preferably in Mechanical or Industrial engineering
