JOB DESCRIPTION

The Credit Analyst position is accountable for the credit granting process including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers and assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.
  • Investigate credit escalations, provide clear and timely responses outlining reasons to support order releases or reasons for maintaining a credit hold.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and implement cross-functional process opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent standards for granting credit, reviewing open credit limits, and setting risk ratings.
  • Establish strong, proactive partnerships with other corporate departments within the organization to minimize bad debt losses and improve service to customers.
  • Adhere to credit processes, identify risks and opportunities based on business strategy and market conditions.
  • Provide training to business partners on key credit processes, in order to increase knowledge and business efficiency.
  • Promote an understanding of credit and OTC departments.
  • Provide decisions for business critical credit release requests or recommend a decision and escalate to appropriate level using delegated authorities and credit policy.
  • Establish credit limits of customers/prospects through credit reports, financials, payment history, online articles, and firsthand knowledge provided by the local teams.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Requires leadership skills, experience/in-depth knowledge of business operations and systems process requirements.
  • Understanding of essential OTC business, collection, and credit functions
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, including both Credit and SD functions
  • Strong computer literacy with MS Office products, particularly Excel and Word
  • Literacy in accounting for bad debt provisions
