This position is responsible for loading, unloading, transporting and delivering product via straight truck to customer locations on an assigned route, in a safe, efficient and timely manner, and adhering to all D.O.T. regulations.   Will perform Daily Inspections on truck, logs hours (if applicable), performs truck maintenance according to schedule and keeps truck clean inside & out.  Stocking and rotating products may be assigned.

Must be able to process orders, delivery tickets and credit invoices using handheld computer and printer, verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures and paperwork.  May collect cash or checks where required and submit funds to company immediately. Will be responsible for accurate inventories on truck and warehouse (if applicable) and daily paperwork as directed by Bernatello’s. 

This is a fast paced and physical job, has early morning start times, and may require some long days or weeks, depending on ad schedule. 

• Ability to read, write and speak English and the ability to understand verbal & written instructions.
• Attention to detail and possess good customer service skills
• Drive straight truck in varying traffic and weather conditions in a safe and legal manner.
• Exposure to varying temperatures from outside summer temps to inside freezers at -10°F.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
• Must be able to work early morning hours and meet daily delivery deadlines.  Good attendance is mandatory.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have and maintain valid driver’s license and pass Motor Vehicle Record & background check.
• Must have basic math and computer skills to operate inventory and invoicing program.
• Must have or be able to obtain a Class B license (CDL).
• Must have or be able to obtain a D.O.T. Medical Card.
• Must have stable work history with sales or grocery store experience being a plus.
• Physical requirements include, but not limited to, repetitive: sitting, walking, bending, reaching, use of upper body and hands, lifting and carrying 30 to 50 lbs.   Occasional: Lifting 50+ lbs.  Push/Pull up to 120 lbs. using pallet jack or power jack.
