Description

The Category Manager Analytics will work cross-functionally within Dr Pepper Snapple Group and externally with Walmart to leverage Modular, POS and Panel data with the goal of maximizing category sales, profit and shopper satisfaction.

The Category Manager Analytics will draw on diverse data sources and use best-in-class technology to create value for Dr Pepper Snapple Group.

This role will support the category managers, the customer (Walmart) and our Corporate Office with detailed analytics.

Below if a brief overview of the role:

  • Blending of customer data (Retail Link) with our internal data.
  • Managing databases including loading data, extracting it and transforming it.
  • Comparing changes to mods i.e. what was on the mod before, what’s on now. What drove the changes and how does it relate to our sales?
  • Leveraging our tools e.g. Tableau to create dashboards to help explain the changes to our business and the mods.
  • Analyzing the data to identify trends and opportunities (and gaps).
  • Predicting future trends based on the data. (clustering, association, decision trees)

LOCATION AND TRAVEL:

This person will report to the Director of Category Management. This role is located in Rogers, AR, with up to 10% travel.

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize data and insights to deliver retailer-centric recommendations for growth on DPSG portfolio supporting Walmart and SAMs Club.
  • Analyze Mod data to provide prescriptive recommendations and be a value added partner bringing customer first assortment and flow recommendations.
  • Apply data mining techniques to modular, sales and syndicated data.
  • Processing, cleansing and validation of data used for analysis.
  • Propose analytic strategies to solve business problems.
  • Analytical interpretation of data and translation into visually impactful presentations. Utilize best in class tools such as Retail Link, Nielsen, IRI, Nitro, JDA, Tableau, Richmix and other industry tools.
  • Provide modular support including data extraction and drawing (JDA).
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (Category Management, Insights, Shopper Marketing, Space Optimization) to leverage syndicated data and shopper insights.
  • Communicate and educate the organization on best in class data interpretation techniques.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities under demanding time constraints with a focus on driving results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a focus on business analytics. A Masters or MBA is preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in Category Management/Sales/Finance and/or Marketing analyzing data such as assortment selections, sales trends and market trends.
  • 2 years’ experience using IRI, Nielsen Scantrack, or other syndicated data to provide value added insights to retailer and sales personnel.
  • 2 years’ experience using Retail Link. Additional experience using RSI a plus.
  • 5 years’ experience using MS Office products such as PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot table creation, vlookup, filters, conditional formulas), MS Access or MS SQL.
  • A strong foundation in Business Analytics, including an understanding of key predictive measures and tools. Ability to blend big data sources to extract meaningful recommendations from diverse data.
  • 2 years experience with data visualization methods and tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • 2 years experience with JDA Space Planning.
