About this job
Responsible for designing, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs associated with the care of Cardiopulmonary patients.
1. Collaborates with respiratory management to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
2. Develops, implements and evaluates educational plans/programs and utilizes methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
3. Serves as a consultant for staff in areas of program development, professional development and clinical practice.
4. Participates in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.
5. Provides direct respiratory care to patients.
6. Assists respiratory management with the formation of policies/procedures and departmental goals.
Complexity of Work: Requires the ability to instruct and ascertain comprehension of staff. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Experience
Education: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Licensure, Certification and Registration: Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as needed; required upon hire.
Required Work Experience: Critical care experience a must. Teaching experience helpful.
