This position is responsible for facility operations strategy and execution fleet and logistics P&L in the Zone.

 

Establish review and ensure appropriate method of Operations & best- in-class operational execution for the zone such as distribution receiving handling and storing of all product

 

Maintain operational efficiency for inventory management and verification of incoming and outgoing shipments

 

Extended member of the Division Logistics Team and accountable for strategy implementation within the zone including full responsibility for Zone Logistics P&L. This responsibility includes truck/depot inventory management loading productivity shrink and damage reductions and provide period and YTD updates on depot performance metrics.

 

Develop warehouse talent strategy and Material Handler labor usage in zone ensuring labor targets being met/exceeded and establish staffing contingencies and approving OT and the use of temp labor.

 

Drive zero based budgeting strategy and cost improvements/reductions managing local vendor networks and assist in preparation of budgets for operating expenses and capital expenses

 

Ensures compliance with all company safety and fleet policies and procedures support and lead company change initiatives and lead within matrix structure.

 

Manages trains and develops subordinates if applicable. Will maintain a significant dotted-line managerial responsibility for all Material Handlers staff in zone

 

Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission values code of ethics policies and other standards of conduct.

Qualification:

Education\: Bachelor's degree or equivalent

 

Years of Related Experience\: 8-10 years related experience

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities\: Strong PC skills in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint. Proven project management skills and experience handling multiple projects and assignments. Excellent communication skills and ability to build relations with the various Schwan Food Company business units while achieving Supply Chain goals; teamworking ability; Analytical and conceptual thinking High level of creativity innovation flexibility and collaborative approach to solving problems. Demonstrated ability to build a dynamic team. Demonstrated ability to evaluate measure and mentor direct reports. Ability to establish priorities goals and measurements. Ability to research issues and make recommendations for resolution. Ability to manage budgets within objectives. Direct knowledge of business processes including shipping and receiving logistics order entry purchase orders work order/shop flow control and inventory management; Demonstrated ability to organize and manage the work of others including direct reports in remote locations and to work with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
