Home Instead Senior Care is looking for a Certified Medication Aide. Home Instead Senior Care provides a variety of non-medical services that allow seniors to remain in their home and meet the challenges of aging with dignity, care and compassion.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a Certified Medication Aide (please do not apply if you are a medical assistant)
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience as Caregiver 
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to communicate effectively with clients, families, and other staff members
  • Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Duties/Summary:

  • Provides medication assistance for clients in accordance with state regulations and company policy including; pouring, preparing, assisting, and documentation
  • Accepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication 
  • Engages clients in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care and medication assistance
  • Responds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessary
  • Observes clients for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurse
  • Completes all documentation such as medication records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned
