Growing Lab in Northern Kentucky needs to add to their team, a PGX Tech

Responsibilities:
  • Support DNA, RNA, miRNA extraction from clinical and research samples for use in downstream applications.
  • Sample extraction on both manual and robotic systems, sample tracking, quality control and quantification of all extracted nucleic acids.
  • Biospecimen nucleic acid extraction, QC and quantification, and accessioning into LIMS.
  • Biospecimen processing, verification of specimen compliance, sample issue resolution and accessioning into LIMS.
  • Perform all extractions and quantifications in accordance with laboratory SOPs under the laboratory CLIA license.
  • Running both automated and manual extraction of nucleic acid from blood, plasma, buccal swabs and FFPE samples.
  • Responsible for genotyping, gene expression and NGS analysis of clinical trial specimens.
  • Adherence to biohazard, safety and CLIA protocols.
  • Preparing and retrieving biospecimens for storage, tracking of biospecimens using a LIMS.
  • Perform and maintain lab supply inventory and order as appropriate.
  • Perform equipment maintenance in accordance with Laboratory SOPs.
  • Record data entry via computer systems, including working with LV6 and Watson lab information management system.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in a scientific discipline as a minimum.
  • Two years’ experience in a hospital based, clinical commercial lab or research lab, performing biological and clinical specimen processing.
  • Ability to perform and record data entry via computer systems while adhering to lab SOPs mandatory.
  • Previous experience with RNA quantification and QC preferable.
  • Previous knowledge of Universal Precautions, Blood Borne Pathogen training, MS word and excel preferable.
  • Must possess skills necessary for biological and clinical sample processing and handling.
