The Parking Systems System Administrator (SA) is responsible for supporting, troubleshooting, documenting and maintaining operating systems and security configurations for revenue control (parking) systems used to run parking services at Towne Park client sites. This individual initiates technical research and development to enable reliable operations and support emerging project demands related to parking systems and equipment, as well as ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Descriptive Statement(s) % of Time
Develops and maintains standard OS and security configurations for parking systems, coordinating with system vendors, Parking Systems Director, and IT Security Director 15
Performs and coordinates IT support services for parking systems, including prioritizing and troubleshooting helpdesk tickets, engaging vendors as needed. Communicates with end-users (internal and external) on a regular interval until issue(s) are resolved. Tasks include the following:
o Supports local site LANs, Internet, and intranet systems.
o Oversees and/or installs servers and configuration of hardware, peripherals, services, storage in accordance with best practices and project/operational requirements.
o Develops and maintains installation, configuration, and retirement procedures, ensuring all procedures are properly documented.
o Provide Tier II support to end users.
o Repair and recover from failures – coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies. 35
Provides support to Parking Systems Director and Security Director in areas related to IT service desk and supported solutions for parking equipment.
o Responds to alerts from managed security and firewall services to address potential security matters
o Oversees deployment of security tools suite to parking systems
o Responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and updating Sophos and Kaseya centralized management consoles for parking systems 20
Provides direction to assigned resources (both internal and external) on various tasks and projects.

Participates in planning, testing, and implementation of enhancements, maintenance and upgrades to relevant parking system platforms, maximizing availability and minimizing resultant problems and issues. 10
Maintains knowledge of ongoing trends in relevant platforms and technologies. 5
Maintains relevant industry knowledge regarding products, processes and trends. 5

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field OR equivalent combination of education, experience and/or certification.

    Required Licensure, Certification, etc.:

  • Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Microsoft technologies preferred.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred.

    Work Experience:

  • Minimum 4-6 years system administration experience.

    Knowledge:

  • Full competency with Infrastructure technologies and extensive knowledge of system-level networks, hardware and software, with the ability to keep abreast of new and developing technologies.
  • Knowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications.
  • Knowledge of regulations, software baselines, configuration management, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of micro/mini/mainframe computer operating systems.
    Skills:

  • Experience with host, cloud, and enterprise administration and security tools such as Kaseya and Sophos.
  • Experience with PARCS preferred.
  • Experience with PCI security requirements preferred.
  • Ability to effectively plan, set priorities, and manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to research information and track multiple priorities.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technology-related documents.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with users and others.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in dealing with matters of significance for the company.

    SCOPE

    Authority to Act:
  • Performs duties independently with minimal supervision, operating from specific and definite directions and instructions. Decisions are of a routine nature made within prescribed operating guidelines, policies and procedures. Mistakes/errors may result in work stoppage, loss of business, poor customer relations and/or damage to product, all of which can have negative financial implications for the organization.

    Working Environment
    The majority of work will be performed in climate-controlled environment, but may be exposed to inclement weather and varying degrees of temperatures on occasion.
    Travel
    Travel of up to 5% may be required.
