Manager, FWAE Operations - Optum Ops, Payment Integrity - Eden Prairie, MN OR Telecommute

Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) Manager, FWAE Operations oversees multiple teams and supervisors and/or manages a team of highly technical clinicians or certified coders.  A Manager, FWAE Operations can oversee a team of highly skilled individuals ranging from 15 - 20 direct reports or manage a team of 3 - 6 Supervisors each who have 15 - 20 employees reporting up to them. Day to day management includes employee development, revenue / savings management, expense management, project management, client management / implementation.      
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Manage a team that generates revenue and savings
Reviews the work of others
Develops innovative approaches and strategies
Anticipates customer needs and proactively develops solutions to meet them
Capable direct client management
Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues
Solves complex problems and develops innovative solutions with broad impact on the business
Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues, both within the team and other departments
Develops and leads projects that drive process improvements
Manages and is accountable for 4 - 5 supervisors with 15 - 20 direct reports each
Serves as an operational leader in client implementations  
Participants in the development of business strategy
Provides input to forecasting and planning activities
Adapts department plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges
May oversee work of exempt and non-exempt personnel
Sets direction, resolves problems and provides guidance to team members
Works with key business partners such as client services, finance, and UHC PI
Ensure client expectations are met relative to operational performance (ie. Service level agreements, state & federal mandates)
Monitor performance using dashboards and key metrics and provide corrective actions to improve performance when needed
Owns an end to end process

Required Qualifications:

3 or more years of experience managing teams
2 or more years of experience managing projects
3+ years of Operations management experience
Experience working with payment integrity principles and health insurance
Experience using MS Word , Excel and Office suite Preferred Qualifications:

4-year college degree
Background in claims management
