This job contributes to Evolution Fresh and Starbucks success by providing financial leadership to the business unit.  The core activities include leading a team across all aspects of financial planning and analysis, manufacturing accounting and finance, sales finance and marketing decision support and analysis.  This partner is also an integral member of the EF leadership team.

 

Key Responsibilities - Responsibilities include support of Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and consolidated Enterprise FP&A for the Evolution Fresh business unit:

 

Sales & Marketing

-          Lead the Evolution Fresh finance team responsible for co-crafting customer-level net-revenue plans to drive volume, profit and share.

-          Thought leadership and participation with the Sales Planning team on setting revenue, trade and growth targets by brand and channel for annual growth strategies, setting guidelines and guardrails for brand-appropriate investments.

-          Develop and manage the ongoing Net Sales forecasting process for Evolution Fresh.  Define information needs of the organization and partner with appropriate levels of management to form process, select systems and initiate action.  Develop and manage Customer Net Sales reporting, including gross revenue, trade investments, net revenue.

-          Support new product commercialization efforts for Evolution Fresh innovation.

 

Supply Chain

-    Lead Evolution Fresh finance team responsible for managing supply chain investments and spending, including procurement, manufacturing, distribution and transportation of Evolution Fresh.

-    Thought leadership and participation in setting productivity targets and tracking and executing annual plan.

-    Assist in building variable and total cost of innovation and commercialization for customer business development.

-    Support capital requests and ensures projects are completed timely and on budget.

FP&A

-    Develop and manage the Evolution Fresh annual financial planning process, including enterprise communication and coordination across the enterprise.

-    Provide financial leadership and business support to the annual 5-year strategic planning process.

-    Directs the development and implementation of monthly management reports, variance analyses, and financial review processes. Designs and implements procedures for more efficient reporting.

-    Identifies key performance indicators and tracks performance against these measures.

-    Plan and manage processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with enterprise business goals and objectives.

-    Plans and executes methods of improving business performance to achieve financial and operational goals.

 

 

Leadership - Set goals for the work group, develop organizational capability, and model how we work together:

-    Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

-    Prioritize workload of team to ensure achievement of objectives, including identification and resolution of potential resource conflicts.

-    Lead cross-functional/business unit project teams.

-    Support the implementation of Company programs, procedures, methods and practices to promote key messages and achieve a competitive advantage.

 

Key Business Partner - Provide functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:

-    Proactive engagement and leadership within business unit leadership team in identification and evaluation of initiatives to drive growth and optimize profitability. Provides interpretation and direction regarding consolidated financial performance to all levels of management.

-    Provides clear direction to the business unit regarding the processes, utilization, and coordination of financial resources. Uses operational and financial expertise to ensure the development of optimized financial solutions.

-    Participates in cross-functional teams to facilitate continuity of business unit plans.

 

Partner Development & Team Building – Providing partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities and building effective teams:

-    Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results.

-    Conducts and ensures performance development and coaching of direct and indirect reports occurs on an ongoing basis.

-    Ensures partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.

-    Oversees training and development of partners directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.

-    Provides coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partners, business and customer results.

-    Models and acts as a leader within the CFO organization, providing mentoring, insights and collaboration to improve the operation or efficiency of the function and company.

 

 

Summary of Experience

-       10 years’ experience leading a financial operations teams to support strategic & financial planning, reporting and analysis of a business unit or department.

-       5 years’ progressive experience managing varied planning, financial analysis, and business management practices in a large global company with emphasis in retail, consumer product or distribution.

-       5+ years CPG sales finance experience

-       2+ years supply chain finance experience, preferably within a CPG company
