Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Perioperative Services Director, and working with physician leaders, manages daily clinical and administrative workflow of the department to maximize operational efficiency. Provides daily oversight to charge nurses in each of the units; OR, PACU, C&G, & GI, insuring coordination and communication between units. Supervises clinical ancillary staff (Anesthesia techs, O.R. Schedulers, and Housekeepers) to assure competent support. Assesses educational needs of the department; develops and coordinates educational efforts including new employee orientation. Completes performance reviews other policy/regulatory requirements and quality initiatives as requested.


REQUIRED:

* At least five years of OR experience.

* BSN.

* RN, CNOR, BLS, and ACLS.

PREFERRED:

* Two years previous management experience in a formal supervisory role strongly preferred.

* Experience supervising multiple departments.

* MSN strongly preferred.
