As a Senior Business Analyst at UnitedHealth Group, you'll be at the helm of a variety of key client initiatives and strategic projects involving client meetings, conference attendance, research, analysis, review, and data forecasting in support of our operational and business planning, business development, and strategic sales for the State Government market. The State Government team serves millions of Americans, including some of the most vulnerable populations. Your ability to analyze and interpret complex stores of both qualitative and quantitative data, interact with clients to understand their challenges and effectively present your recommended solutions will drive your success and ours.
 
This is incredibly challenging work.  You'll need to understand and work with constantly evolving technology in ways that impact your recommendations and meet the intense expectations of internal and external customers.
 
Primary Responsibilities


Interact with clients to understand market challenges, trends, and present solutions

Attend industry conferences and develop and maintain relationships with state and county clients and other key industry stakeholders

Support the research and analysis needs  of the Director of State Strategy and the State Government Front Office behavioral health and population health management services team, particularly by providing the client perspective  

Meet with state, county, and local government representatives to advance business development efforts and discuss Optum solutions

Conduct client-specific research and analysis in preparation for client meetings and presentations

Conduct state policy, budget, and strategic research needs and projects in connection with client management and outreach activities to support and maintain the State Account Coordination profiles and Executive Client Management team

Assist with state-specific demographic research needs, materials to support strategic state profiles, documentation and research for cross-Optum state business opportunities - particularly relating to client management and outreach

Complete deal-specific research and analysis requests: budget research, price - to - win support,  specific competitive research requests, market research, and proposal analysis, particularly related to ongoing client management and outreach activities

Coordinate sales planning and development efforts via Salesforce and EDGE processes: support sales team with EDGE, Salesforce maintenance, pipeline tracking and reporting

Create deal review meeting materials, bid memo materials, bid tracking, and related reporting needs, and win / loss analysis Support reports and document development as needed for Growth Office Initiatives

Research support for ad - hoc requests from sales teams, Capture and Solution teams

Prepare OCEO meeting materials - review and support OCEO reporting

Requirements

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree or Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Business, Public health, or related field

2+ years of experience in business analysis and research involving process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes                                                                                                                    

Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Ability to Travel up to 50% of the time

Ability to think critically, to problem solve and to balance multiple priorities and projects effectively

Ability to maintain strong client relationships

Strong research and analysis skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salesforce or Govwin experience

Healthcare industry experience
