Occupational Therapist - Full-time / Part-time

Position Summary

Evaluate and treat patients with psychosocial disabilities that interfere with daily living skills to help them reach their optimal level of functioning. Supervise and direct the Technicians, Aides, and Secretary while they are involved in Occupational Therapy and when planning Occupational Therapy as a component of treatment. Provide intervention services across the continuum of Behavioral Health Services care.

Essential Job Functions

• Develops and implements a program of occupational therapy designed to meet the needs of the patients.

• Documents services provided and patient participation in patient chart by the end of the shift, as reflected in chart review.

• Initial assessment and appropriate goals will be completed within 24 hours of doctor’s orders for occupational therapy as observed by chart review.

• Maintains area, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly manner on a daily basis.

• Maintains open communications with psychiatric team members on a daily basis, as evidenced by observation and feedback.

• Provides quality input for interdisciplinary treatment planning, reflected in written treatment plan reviews.

• Supervises for appropriate use of OT supplies and equipment on a daily basis.

Educational/Experience Requirements

Current State licensure in Occupational therapy or eligible for state licensure and experience, preferably in mental health.
