One of the leading multi-disciplinary consulting engineering firms in Chicago is looking for an Electrical Designer to bring onto their team. This firm specializes in technically complex projects nationally and internationally in the healthcare, science and technology, laboratory and research, and higher education markets.
Job Responsibilities:
- Will complete design for a variety of electric power distribution, technology, A/V, and security systems primarily for large commercial buildings, but also will work on healthcare, science and technology buildings, energy and utility work, and mission critical facilities
- Will work on new construction, build-outs, replacement and upgrades of electrical equipment and systems
- Production of design and construction documents in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Communicate with architects and engineers on projects
- Set up initial project sheets, floor plans, and generate Revit families
- Ensure project symbols are set up accurately and objects are associated to the right projects
- Responsible for QA/QC and integrity of the overall BIM model
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a related field
- 5+ years of experience
- 2+ years of experience specific to BIM/Electrical Design within an A/E/C firm
- Proficiency in Revit MEP
- Navisworks or New Forma experience is a plus, but not necessary
