Responsibilities

Provides patient care as directed by nurses and physicians.Maintains examination rooms appropriately, ordering supplies as needed/directed.Escorts patient to exam room and takes vital signs.Assists with office procedures, including EKG's, cultures, PPD's, etc.Calls pharmacy with prescriptions, calls patients with lab, test results.Draws blood, gives muscular injections, performs chest x-rays, as required.Assists with flexible sigmoid scopes, Holter Monitors, etc, as required.Assists with patient instruction as needed.May perform additional job related duties as directed or when needs dictate.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program; Experience: AND two years experience or 4 years comparable experience as a medical assistant. Up to two years specific specialty experience may be required.
