JOB DESCRIPTION:

Writes and manages content and design for publications, press releases, web articles, blogs or other Internet postings. Collaborates with colleagues to create and maintain a dynamic online communications platform that increases public awareness and support of Emory business units and their strategic priorities. Utilizes technical expertise to take part in the management of all aspects of producing online publications, from the creation and editing of stories to the presentation of multimedia content. Utilizes technical expertise to take part in the distribution of content across multiple platforms, which may include various forms of social media. Coordinates and monitors online statistics, launches new web products, and develops ways to increase user activity. Performs related responsibilities as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Experience leading cross-functional projects across multiple units and departments

* Experience creating and editing assets using the Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

* Basic HTML and XML

* Experience with photography and video production

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

CONTENT PRODUCER

The Content Producer develops and manages content needs for the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing and ensures marketing and communication efforts across all channels meet strategic goals and addresses audience needs and behaviors to drive desired outcomes. This position will take the lead on producing content for all key business objectives.

The Content Producer will create and manage content for the School of Nursing's websites, social media channels, and other marketing collateral. The ideal candidate is a versatile storyteller, who can identify, create, and share timely, compelling content about the School of Nursing's academic programs, research enterprise, clinical partners, and faculty, staff, students and alumni across a wide range of platforms.

The content producer will generate content for multiple channels, including but not limited to:

* Website (www.nursing.emory.edu)

* Blogs (www.emorynursingnow.com);

* Email newsletters and campaigns;

* Magazine articles;

* Marketing materials;

* Print materials; and

* Social media.

Specific Responsibilities

* Oversees content development and daily maintenance of the School of Nursing's website

* Creates, writes, reviews, schedules, and posts website content using an array of tools such as Cascade, an enterprise-wide content management system

* Serves as the liaison for website content with faculty, staff, and external vendors

* Writes and designs compelling content for marketing campaigns (student recruitment, engagement and outreach), including website, email, ad copy and social media and video channels

* Produces high-quality, engaging content to advance the School of Nursing's brand for diverse audiences that is searchable and sharable across all types of online/digital media

* Develops and implements content marketing and engagement strategy for social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Flickr, Snapchat, Pinterest, YouTube, etc.), School of Nursing blog, websites and other channels

* Develops an editorial calendar and curates the most relevant content from School of Nursing and external sources to meet the needs of specific audiences

* Develops systems for organizing and disseminating reusable content

* Oversees website and social media measurement and reporting using best practices

* Produces engaging videos for the School of Nursing's website and social media channels

* Collaborates with the Director of Communications to generate photography, videos, and infographics for marketing collateral

* Produces a mix of podcasts, short news videos/interviews, and photo essay projects

* Creates content for newsletters (weekly news digest, monthly newsletter, other email communications as needed)

* Supports the Director of Communications on executive communications, event scripting, and other mission-critical projects as needed

* Other duties as needed

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's or higher degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related field

* Ability to create engaging, on-brand content

* 4-5 years of work experience in a content marketing or communications capacity

* Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and successfully deliver on tight timelines

* Experience with multimedia storytelling

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field and two years of writing, social media or related experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Excellent writing and editing skills, image editing experience and knowledge of HTML and CSS. Knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Cascade Server desirable.
