Construction Project Manager

LOCATION: Federal Way, WA

SALARY: $70K - $100K / year DOE

JOB DESCRIPTION: NW Staffing Resources is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Construction Project Manager for our client based in Seattle. The Construction Project Manager has overall responsibility for successfully leading all phases of construction for projects of varying size and complexity. The Construction Project Manager will organize and administer multiple projects from conception to completion, providing scoping, programming, pre-design, cost estimating, and management of construction services for building and facility mechanical and electrical upgrades, and other types of projects. This individual will also be responsible for supporting business development efforts while concurrently delivering projects successfully, on time, on budget, and within clients’ expectations. The Construction Project Manager will be working on the job sites with most, if not all, of the job sites being in the Federal Way area. This is a temporary position which could turn into long term for the right candidate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees all aspects of multiple construction projects
  • Provides leadership by demonstrating focus on exceeding customers' expectations
  • Develops and maintains long-term customer and subcontractor relationships
  • Responsible for the selection, hiring, and overseeing of subcontractors who are best suited for the specific project
  • Develops project schedules and track milestones using MS Project
  • Defines, plans, schedules, and tracks progress of multiple construction projects
  • Manages the project(s) to ensure it is completed within the project timeline
  • Provides input during the design phase on scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment, and constructability
  • Ensures that all safety precautions are adhered to by the construction workers
  • Obtains the necessary licenses and permits as required
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements
  • Ensures that assigned projects are billed on time, within budget and within scope of the contract
  • Responsible for project financial well-being as indicated by:
    • Project profitability
    • Executed gross margin (no slippage)
    • Project cash flow
    • Timely project completion
  • This position may require a flexible work schedule and extended work hours including evenings, weekends and travel outside the Puget Sound area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; and/or 3 years of related experience in Construction Project Management for projects of various size and complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and deliver successful, timely project completion
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate construction meetings with clients, contractors and other relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced project environment with frequent deadlines and deliverables on multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all phases of a design and construction project
  • Self-directed and able to function with ease as part of project team
  • Proficiency in project management software, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, and Outlook
  • Must be attentive to detail
  • Must have good coordination skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional designation (PMP)
  • Proficiency with advanced project management, scheduling, and document management systems and software
  • Experience with Prolog
  • Construction estimating experience
