A successful Director, Media Sales will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years of experience and/or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • MBA Preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years experience inclusive of 10 years management experience
  • High executive functions
  • Highly self-motivated, resourceful, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills
  • Extensive experience managing large national media sales teams
  • Outstanding client & agency relationships
  • Extensive experience with linear, addressable, programmatic & OTT media sales
  • Experience with audience-based sales using data sets/panels
  • Experience bringing new product offerings into the market
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills while interfacing externally with agency and brand clients at both executive and junior levels
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with comfort speaking in front of large groups
  • Extensive experience managing multiple projects/deals at a time, motivating others, fostering a collaborative work environment and synthesizing work from multiple internal groups into presentable formats for executive consumption

DISH Media Sales is currently looking for a top-tiered media sales management executive to lead a national team of sales managers and account executives. This individual's success will be directly tied to the development and implementation of a sales strategy that facilitates the achievement of client growth objectives while reaching and exceeding DISH Media Sales goals. The Director is responsible for being the face of the sales team, while steering others toward profitable results and empowering growth within the organization. We are looking for candidates with strong high-level client relationships and an exceptional business acumen to help grow our evolving business.

 

Job duties and responsibilities fall into the following categories:

  • Sales leader across all DISH Media Sales television assets inclusive of General Market, Direct Response and Addressable
  • Meet and exceed budgeted revenue goals and activity levels on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Manage a national team of sales managers in NYC, Chicago and Los Angeles
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategic vision while delivering short term revenue success
  • Be an expert in the data driven, addressable and OTT media ecosystem
  • Be an ambassador for the DISH Media Sales & Sling TV brands
  • Maintain a deep understanding of current TV and online advertising trends and innovations
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, operations, product, marketing, and finance teams
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, and conferences, as directed
  • Be the subject matter expert for all DISH Media Sales offerings in the marketplace
  • Cultivate and grow relationships with leading agency and brand buyers, innovators and decision makers, especially amongst audience buying leaders
  • Provide guidance and expertise to coordinate between sales, strategy, and executive leadership
  • Report to Vice President, Head of Sales
