Job Description:

3M is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Supply Chain Operations Division located in Clinton, TN. Here, we go!

Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Maintenance Technician will be a key resource for the 3M Clinton, TN manufacturing plant. This individual will be a member of the site's Plant Engineering organization and will report directly to the Plant Engineering Manager.

This individual will safely install, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on industrial and commercial equipment and devices used in production, laboratory, office and utility areas. In addition, they will provide support as needed to Production, Engineering, PI & CS Engineering for the installation and optimization of new equipment and controls.

Successful candidate should have demonstrable skills in various areas of mechanical and electrical disciplines. Also, they will have a working knowledge of industrial safety practices.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Maintain a safe work environment

* Perform duties safely

* Troubleshoot/Repair mechanical equipment and components such as: bearings, bushings, gear boxes, pump seals, clutches, brakes, drive components, valves, motors and couplings

* Troubleshoot/Adjust mechanical equipment such as: hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and equipment, variable speed power transmission systems, conveyors, spraying systems and extruders

* Troubleshoot control valves, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and pumps

* Set-Up and operation of shop equipment and portable power tools

* Use precision measuring equipment

* Replace tachometers and encoders

* Troubleshoot and replace AC and DC drives

* Adjust, repair and replace conveyor and web steering systems

* Adjust, calibrate and repair: tension controls, pressure & temperature transducers/transmitters, flowmeters, photo eyes, proximity, displacement and level sensors

* Troubleshoot/Repair PLCs, HMIs, and vision/optical inspection systems

* Material rigging using lifting, rigging, hoisting, skidding and rolling

* Maintain/Troubleshoot power distribution systems

* Fabricate, machine, weld, solder, parts as needed

* Maintain complete shop records and use reporting system to follow established time reporting and material charging procedures

* Create/Modify documents, spread-sheets, word processed files, and databases

* Operate a personal computer

* Perform housekeeping tasks

This position will require:

* Working overtime

* Weekend work

* Holiday work

* Short notice call-in

* Working on-call

This position may require:

* Working first, second or third shift depending on business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

* High School Diploma

* Possess a one (1) year technical diploma/degree or higher in a Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics or Maintenance discipline from an accredited institution or three (3) years of experience in Maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

* Five (5) years experience of manufacturing, equipment installation and troubleshooting maintenance support.

* Documented education, training and industrial work experience.

* Experience in maintaining process instrumentation.

* Direct experience with manufacturing equipment.

* Proven skill level in working with original equipment manuals, prints, drawings and charts.

* Knowledge and skills of mechanical concepts needed to maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and electrical devices.

* Demonstrated leadership skills

* Good written and oral communication skills

* Ability to work with a cross functional team in the manufacturing organization

Location: Clinton, TN

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation: Is not authorized
