Reporting to the health plan CEO, the Vice President of Health Services is a key clinical leadership position with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Hawaii (“UHCCP”).  UHCCP provides health care coverage for 44,000 Medicaid and 14,000 low-income Medicare individuals across the State of Hawaii. Position leads a team of over 150 clinical and support staff employees both office and field based interacting with our health plan members, providers and others.
 
Leadership responsibilities include care management, care coordination, disease management, population health improvement and other related activities. The Vice President of Health Services works closely with a dynamic and experienced local leadership team as well as leveraging the extensive resources and capabilities of UnitedHealth Group.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for office and field based clinical and clinical support teams
Oversight of 150+ FTEs, majority of team are field based case managers
Reports to Health Plan CEO
Integral part of the Hawaii leadership team
Works closely with other clinical teams including behavioral health
Along with CMO, primary clinical contact with the State of Hawaii
Significant responsibilities for driving clinical, quality, financial and compliance results
Leadership interface with key functional and support areas within UnitedHealth Group
Based in the UnitedHealthcare downtown Honolulu office
Must reside on the island of Oahu
Periodic travel to the other islands to meet with the clinical teams
Occasional travel to mainland for business meetings
Must have a clinical background in either physical or behavioral health
Demonstrated leadership skills
Management experience (managing clinical and non-clinical staff)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

RN, NP, APRN, or MSW with current State of Hawaii license
Minimum (3) years experience in care management/care coordination to Medicare and/or Medicare low-income beneficiaries
Minimum of (2) years management/supervisory work experience in a managed care organization
Demonstrated track record of clinical program compliance, functional collaboration, and meeting program goals
Demonstrated track record of leadership development
Intermediate computer skills- MS Office Suite- PowerPoint, Excel, Word
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in development and execution of clinical programs in Medicaid or Medicare managed care
Experience in behavioral and physical health program integration in a managed care environment
Work experience with the social determinants of healthcare (issues such as housing, income, financial, education, domestic violence, etc.)
Field based case management program implementation and monitoring
Advanced degree
