Aerotek is seeking a Master Machinist with extensive knowledge and strong communication skills to join the team of well qualified, diverse individuals at a Kilmarnock, VA Facility.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Take directions from Machinist III to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments; includes precision hardware fabrication to machine, modify, or repair mechanical hardware. May also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
Previous Machine shop experience required.
Knowledge or ability to learn how to operate a lathe, mill and measuring instruments (Calipers, Micrometers) to verify/check parts as they come off of the machine, make adjustments to machine and put parts in and out of the automated machine.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and understand the sequence of the machining operation to create a complete part.
