About this job

We are seeking a full-time Parish and Community Outreach Coordinator for the Nashua District Office who is required to perform case work, coordinate the development and delivery of parish-based social services including support groups, convene and train parish and community volunteers for addressing social needs, and provide advocacy, assessment and referral services to families and individuals and occasional pastoral care.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong preference for a Master degree or equivalent work experience in social work, pastoral ministry, theology, education or a related field.
  • Two years’ experience as a social worker, pastoral minister, educator or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching.
  • Outgoing personality with the ability to speak in public, effectively lead groups and engage with people from all backgrounds.
  • Intermediate knowledge in the use of electronic technology (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, electronic mail, etc.)
  • Must be bilingual with proficiency in Spanish a necessity.

Responsibilities include

  • Engages with presenting clients to assess need. Includes the administration of emergency assistance, conducting Life Plan assessments and making necessary referrals.
  • Planning, development and implementation education and training workshops and/or support groups to meet the emerging and ongoing needs within district office catchment area.
  • Design, coordinate and conduct community service projects as determined by program needs.
  • Network and maintain relationships with Catholic parish staff, community social service agencies, local welfare departments, schools and other faith based agencies.
  • Document and complete all applicable client, parish and community interactions in Apricot software package.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with agency personnel, departments and management.
