Job DescriptionKelly Services in partnership with a local manufacturing company has openings for Finishers (Hand Packing) in the Neenah area. The Finishers will assist in the packing of finished products for shipment and checking for mistakes made in production. They will also assist the cutter operators by preparing lifts of paper for the cutting process.Responsibilities:- Responsible for reading and understanding job jacket and work instruction information pertaining to a production order before running as well as following packaging specifications and box count. - Able to use work instructions and job jacket information to determine quantity of chipboard required for production job and number sheet requirements for combination runs- Assist in set-up of auxiliary equipment.- Able to jog stock and remove defective stock prior to stock being cut.- Responsible for removing labels that are wrinkled, out of register, or have other defects prior to labels being cut, wrapped, or stacked.- Use Vision computer system to produce outer carton labels and place on appropriate boxes for production run, quantity and product; place outer product label on correct box- Responsible for inspecting all finished packs of product for defects, excess scrap, incorrect polywrap, etc.- Able to ensure the correct labels are placed in the correct box without mixing up labels.- Able to understand and follow all customer specifications and SOPs for boxing of production jobs.- Responsible for transporting finished skids to the shipping department.- Able to work in a fast-paced, demanding production environment. - Use good judgment and -best for business- tactics when dealing with trouble shooting problems and opportunities.- Apply Lean philosophy through Kaizen event participation, improvement activities and lean initiatives to support corporate objectives. - Assist in participating in Root Cause Countermeasure activities to identify areas where improvement is needed and put a plan in motion to address those areas. - Participation in continuous improvement efforts in value stream to ensure waste reduction, cost savings, increase speed, and on time delivery- Maintain housekeeping activities including cleaning press and work area, follow 6S process: Safety, Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.- Ensure 6S visual scans are completed as well as 6S standards followed thru sustainment.1st,2nd, and 3rd shift openingsPay starting at $11.50/hr.Located in Neenah, WIDoes this sound like a fit for you or someone you know? Equivalent knowledge and experience is preferred. - Ability to communicate both written and orally in the English language.- Mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume and distance.- Basic computer skills and knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing programs. - Understand or learn the company-specialized Vision computer system and how to perform tasks within the Vision system.- Physical requirements include ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
