Worlds of Fun is looking for associates 21 years of age and older to be bartenders during our traditional operating season and during WinterFest. This is a great opportunity offering $8.50 / hour in addition to tips. If this sounds like the type of work you'd be interested in, please read on:

Essential Job Functions

  • Operates within full compliance of applicable liquor laws, regulations, health codes and sanitation guidelines.
  • Takes and serves food and beverage orders, ensuring proper quality and temperature. Cooks and prepares food items, serves food in correct portions, takes proper payment and makes change for food and beverage items using a cash register.
  • Taps beer kegs, serves draft beer, bottled alcoholic beverages, mixed alcoholic beverages, and frozen beverages. Monitors and manages alcohol sales and consumption including checking for proper identification and park issued wristband to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Squeegees floors, wipes off counters, sweeps, empties trash, cleans glasses, utensils and bar equipment and other general cleaning duties.
  • Produces and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with the park recipe specifications and standards, ensuring measuring devices are used at all times. Memorizes all menus, master price list, beverage and wine lists and daily specials.
  • Maintains proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining and condiment areas, including bottles, mixes, and changing kegs. Alerts Team Lead or kitchen personnel of shortages or special orders.
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guests or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outline in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a Liquor License and a Food Handler card from the KCMO Health Department.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory or random drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
