POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Slitter Packager packages slit materials per customer specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review customer specification sheets and package slit product accordingly.
2. Remove slit material from slitter machine for packaging.
3. Build pallets for packaging requirements.
4. Assist the Slitter Material Handler on the forklift, as needed.
5. Cut all fiber cores per slit width requirements.
6. Keep work area clean and orderly at all times.
7. Participate in safety and other training programs as required.
8. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

DESIRABLE JOB REQUISITES:

Education/Training/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Average analytical and reading skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Ability to work well independently
Ability to maintain a positive presence in the workplace

License(s) or Certification(s) Required:

Will become forklift certified
Will be certified to refill the LPG tanks on the forklifts

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position does not have exposure to hazardous chemicals

Physical Demands, Hazards, and Working Conditions:

Very heavy work. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking and hearing are frequently required.
Seeing with a close visual acuity, seeing with the acuity to perform an activity, and seeing with the acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment are frequently required.
Use of an automatic hand-banding gun, a repetitive motion is frequently required.
The Associate is frequently subject to noise, vibrations, and to temperature fluctuations in the production area; however, the position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
The Associate is occasionally subject to hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to high heat and/or chemicals.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Safety glasses, earplugs, safety shoes, and long pants when in production areas
Kevlar gloves when handling metals


UNDERSTANDING OF JOB ESSENTIALS:

I understand that training for relevant skills and required knowledge, such as OSHA compliance, will be provided by First American Resources Company as needed, and that I will be required to participate and enthusiastically support the safety program.
