OBJECTIVE:
The Retail Sales Associate will be the first point of contact for many customers within our retail centers. Retail Sales Associates will be held responsible for the sales floor to include: stocking, merchandising, as well as operation of a point-of-sale cash register system. Due to the constant contact with customers it is essential that Retail Sales Associates provide excellent customer service displaying an “Attitude of Gratitude” in order to support the mission of the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent Customer Service with an “Attitude of Gratitude.”
- Provide assistance to customers with questions, concerns, and purchases.
- Provide accurate cashier transactions and a balanced cash drawer with minimal errors using a computer based point-of-sales system.
- Clean sales floor areas to include: organizing shelves and racks, picking items up off the floor, putting away carts or baskets, putting away returned/unwanted items and cleaning the fitting rooms and shelving.
- Provide a safe, organized, and well stocked sales floor to include the fitting rooms and coffee bar areas.
- Cross-train in other departments/areas and act as back-up for other areas as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year retail sales or cash handling experience desired.
- Accurate with numbers and have an understanding of the value of different coins and money.
- Able to use basic math such as adding, subtracting, and multiplication.
- Able to operate a computer based cash register and credit card machine.
- Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
- Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
- Able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff and peers.
