Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room circulates, coordinates the surgical team in all aspects of OR activities, providing for optimum perioperative nursing care to patients and functions as the patients' advocate.

All associate degree registered nurses with a RN hire/transfer date after December 31, 2012, must complete their baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program within six (6) years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.

Qualifications: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing and eligible for a Florida Registered Nurse license. One year Perioperative nursing required.

Additional Qualifications: Training will be provided to qualified candidates with a diverse OR background. Clinical competency to include, but not limited to, guidelines and standards of care, policies and procedures; patient and staff safety policy and procedures; technical preparation, operation and care of equipment necessary to perform an appointed surgical procedure. Understands team concept in working with others. Possesses ability to prioritize in dealing with the needs of the surgical team during a case. Ability to function under stress and pressure. Professional attitude and sense of confidentiality. Stands and walks almost continuously during work schedule. Transportation of audiovisual equipment. Moderate to heavy lifting. Exposure to cuts, burns, bio-hazardous materials.

License or Certification: Current RN license by applicable state requirements.

Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.

Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Compensation Detail: Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $25.83 per hour.

Hours/Pay Period: 80

Schedule Details: Various Shifts/Schedules and call requirements

Weekend Schedule: Rotational call weekends and holidays
