Responsibilities

Sets up and operates Press Machines for the production of the direct pressure laminate; operates various powered industrial equipment in the manufacturing of Direct Pressure Laminate; and performs inspection duties.

* Complies with all safety rules and procedures

* Performs Operator duties:

* Performs startup and runs the Press Lines

* Participates in product and or process troubleshooting processes as required to solve existing problems and as a means of providing cost improvement for the end product

* Performs Forklift Team Member duties:

* Loads MDQ and PAL (Dcor, Overlay and Backer) onto Press In-feed

* Uses THO PAL aging report daily to pull paper using FIFO

* Completes Daily Forklift Safety Checklist

* Performs inspection duties:

* Performs quality testing on finished product; does 100% visual inspection on product that is set out for testing to identify any defects, and uses master sample to ensure correct product is being run

* Visually inspects panels and marks each defect found to ensure that it gets rejected at the finish line

* Communicates quality issues to the press operator and recommends needed adjustments

* Supports and assumes responsibility for product changeover on the press line using SMED Std work document

* Implements controls and procedures so that the end product is produced to established quality standards

* Conducts weekly line cleaning as required

* Records daily material consumption and PLQ using SFC software

Performs all other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent

* Forklift certification

* Achieves minimum acceptable levels on Work Keys assessment tests for Applied Mathematics, Applied Technology, Locating Information and Reading for Information

* 1-3 years of forklift experience

* 1-3 years of personal computer experience

* Good mechanical aptitude/Machine operation knowledge

* Problem solving skills

* Attention to detail
